Visual impairment (VI)

Visual impairment is a term used to describe a loss of vision that cannot be fully corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery. It encompasses a wide range of conditions, from partial sight loss to complete blindness, and can significantly impact an individual's ability to perform daily tasks and navigate their environment.

In the UK, more than 2 million people are living with sight loss. Of these, around 340,000 are registered as blind or partially sighted.

Understanding Sight Loss for Employers	This course will give you a better understanding of sight loss and you’ll learn how to support a blind or partially sighted colleague. If you are an employer, it will also outline the support you can get to help you recruit and retain people with sight loss. Our course is suitable for managers, supervisors and colleagues.
