What is a Reconnections Foster Carer?

This is a highly specialist role working with children currently in residential care who would benefit from a home environment. The Reconnections Foster Carer role is designed for individuals who are patient, empathetic, resilient, and highly experienced in childcare. You’ll provide a safe, supportive home for a young person for as long as needed.

Reconnections means that you may be supporting the young person to build relationships with friends or family, helping them to reconnect with their cultural roots or traditions, or letting them rediscover their personal values or passions. You will be helping them to reconnect to a family setting and home life. You could be supporting children coming back to Leeds and helping them to reconnect with their local community.

This can help give them develop a sense of belonging, emotional security, self-worth, hope and resilience for the future.
